Welcome to our employee handbook

Committing to remote-first has been a blessing for GlobalVision. We learned to be documentation-first, which means that every internal change, decision, and policy started off with a document. Consequently, we ended up with a set of documents that describe what working at GlobalVision is like, in reality. New hires have been able to onboard in half the time because they finally had a one-stop shop to learn the basics.

But, we realized that this information would be just as important for candidates who are deciding if GlobalVision is the right next step for their careers. So, we decided to move our full employee handbook to the web. We recognize that our remote-first asynchronous* work environment is unique, and we believe you should know what you are stepping into before making a major life decision like where you will (hopefully) spend the rest of your career.

Once you dive into the first section, what we do, you can use the navigation pane on the left to read through all of the chapters:

*Asynchronous = work does not occur at the same time for everyone

If you are a candidate,

  • Every page here is our real internal documentation, not a redacted and sanitized duplicate.

  • You may run into many broken links if you do not work at GlobalVision! This handbook is the same one we use internally, so some links refer back to our private intranet.

  • "GV=GlobalVisionโ€ (we refrain from acronyms as part of our Writing Principles, but this is an exception ๐Ÿ˜‰)

  • Please comment inline whenever you have feedback! The beauty is of codifying our handbook is that it forces us to keep it up to date and relevant, but we need your help!
