Values

Freedom to innovate

We believe in trying new things and are not afraid of failure – as long as we learn from it!

In practice...
  • In practice, this means GlobalVisionaries are encouraged to commit a portion of their time to innovating. Nothing is permanent so we should be questioning the status quo of our processes and products.

  • The tradeoff is that sometimes experiments don't work out - and that's ok! It's not wasted time if you learned something along the way.

Grow, sustainably

We believe in prioritizing our long-term success over short-term gains.

In practice...
  • In practice, this means we don't believe in growth for its own sake, rather that it’s a sign that we are building great things. We prioritize projects that impact long-term results over short-term fixes.

  • The tradeoff is that we are less reactive to problems. Instead, we slow down and take the time to brainstorm questions before solutions, collaborate, and document. We execute with urgency, but not until we know that we are executing in the right direction.

Problems are opportunities

We see problems as opportunities for improvement and recognize that we do some of our best work when we face adversity, then adapt.

In practice...
  • Externally this means actively looking for new problems to solve for our customers as we expand our value offering in ways that lead to more success for our customers. Internally this means adopting an empowering mindset about the challenges we face as a company and as individuals, and having the courage to step out of our comfort zones to find solutions.

  • The tradeoff is that we have to openly point out mistakes.

Trust & autonomy

We give our GlobalVisionaries the space and resources to do their best work every day and trust everyone to be intrinsically motivated and aligned with our mission.

In practice...
  • In practice, this means once we establish accountability and objectives, we expect you to be able to deliver results or be honest with your challenges. Policies like self-managed vacation show that we trust our team to manage themselves effectively, and demonstrates our results-driven culture.

  • The tradeoff is that autonomy and freedom come with the responsibility to each other to ensure we are all doing our best to have a positive impact on the company's success. Also, it comes with the responsibility to communicate clearly and often so that nobody needs to “follow up” with you.

Radiate passion & positivity

Being passionate and a team player with positive energy and intentions is a non-negotiable. Read: we hire people we wouldn’t mind being stuck in an airport with overnight, or stranded with on an island.

In practice...
  • In practice, this means actively expressing passion for our company and products in every interaction with customers. Internally this means focusing on solutions and being happy to come to work on Mondays.

  • The tradeoff is that we will have impeccably high standards for who we choose to hire to work with us at GlobalVision.

Continuous feedback

Feedback is the fuel for learning and growth in everything we do.

In practice...
  • In practice, we provide honest, specific, and actionable feedback as often as possible. We give positive feedback often (and publicly); constructive feedback privately and with kindness. For building projects and products, we work iteratively with early and consistent feedback, which we actively seek out from as many stakeholders as possible, like customers and other teams.

  • The tradeoff is that giving and receiving feedback is scary. We know it helps us grow, but it is challenging to do in practice. We need to dedicate time and energy to practicing this skill and take initiative to ask for feedback.
