Responsibility Matrix
Complex projects make it really easy for teams to lose track of tasks and responsibilities. Even after having a strictly scheduled project plan, issues can arise due to confusion on assignments or involvement. The solution is to create a Responsibility Matrix:
A Responsibility Matrix is used to assign roles and responsibilities for each task, milestone, or decision on a project team. By mapping out which roles are involved in each project and at which level, you can avoid the age-old project question, Who’s doing what?
Roles
Role | Responsibility | Requirement |
---|---|---|
DRIVER | Accountable to complete the task. | One, and only one. |
CONTRIBUTOR | Review and consultation. | None, or as many as needed. |
INFORMED | Kept in the loop on progress. | None, or as many as needed. |
